Canine Assisted Therapy
Canine Assisted Therapy is used at the Alta Bates Summitt Rehabilitation center to assist in the recovery of patient's from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other diagnosis.
The canine's, Daisy and Vyda, assist the patients with exercise, take patients for walks, play fetch, and generally improve their health and well being.
One patient stated after a prolonged hospitalization, "The dogs make me feel so much better, they bring the outside in."
