    Russ’s life as a salesman was filled with stress and pressure. He pushed himself hard, developed poor eating habits, smoked, and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. In 2002, at the age of 50, he had a stroke. He felt the right side of his body tingling and then he collapsed.

    Pamela had a successful career as an architect, she enjoyed riding her horse and playing tennis whenever possible and her life as a wife and mother of two children was quite perfect. Suddenly, in the night, she experienced the most subtle of stroke symptoms; slurred speech and a little disorientation. She had no idea she was having a stroke.

    Patricia was a student at California State University, where she was a year away from graduating with a degree in criminal justice. What started as a normal day for her ended in a tragic automobile accident. Patricia suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for four months.

    Matt, a promising 19-year-old college sophomore and outstanding athlete, was involved in a head-on collision during which he suffered a severe brain injury. Matt was in a coma for months. Doctors told his family that he may never walk again, talk again, or for that matter, survive at all.
